Furniture is one of the heaviest things most people ever buy, and most of it is thrown away within fifteen years. Everything below is how we try not to add to that.
Solid oak, ash and walnut from forests audited by the Forest Stewardship Council. No veneered particleboard standing in for hardwood, and no mystery timber.
Recycled wool and post-consumer linen make up most of the range. Where we use new fibre it is natural, undyed where possible, and chosen because it wears in rather than out.
Bolts and dowels instead of glue and staples. Every frame can be disassembled with hand tools, which is what makes a ten-year repair guarantee possible in the first place.
Seat and back covers come off and can be re-ordered on their own. A tired sofa becomes a re-covered sofa, not a skip.
